Amazon’s New James Bond Favorite Revealed — And He Might Be the Perfect 007

The next James Bond might already be in plain sight — and fans are buzzing about it. Ever since Amazon took creative control of the Bond franchise, the hunt for the new 007 has become one of Hollywood’s hottest topics. With Dune director Denis Villeneuve signed on to lead the reboot and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight handling the script, expectations are sky-high. But the million-dollar question remains: Who’s getting the tux, the Aston Martin, and the license to kill?

Amazon’s New James Bond Favorite Revealed — And He Might Be the Perfect 007

Callum Turner Could Be the Next 007

Right now, all signs point to one man — Callum Turner.

The British actor, best known for his roles in Fantastic Beasts, Masters of the Air, and The Boys in the Boat, is reportedly the frontrunner for Bond 26. He checks nearly every box: British, charming, and a fresh enough face to lead the franchise into a new era.

While Turner doesn’t have a ton of action-heavy credits, his screen presence and natural cool make him a believable secret agent. Plus, he’s not tied down by any big franchises, meaning he’s free to dedicate himself fully to years of Bond films — something producers definitely want.

At 35, Turner might be a few years older than Amazon’s ideal target age, but his rising popularity keeps him a strong contender. Recently, he’s also made headlines for his engagement to pop superstar Dua Lipa, who, let’s be honest, would be a perfect fit to record the next Bond theme song.

Who Else Is in the Race for James Bond?

Turner may be leading the race, but competition for 007 is fierce.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train, 28 Years Later) and Theo James (The Gentlemen) are still high on the list. Both have been fan favorites for years and seem to fit the “mature yet magnetic” profile producers are eyeing.

Then there’s Austin Butler, the Elvis and Dune 2 star. Despite being American — a detail purists often side-eye — his name continues to pop up in rumors. Other popular picks include Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, James Norton, and longtime fan dream Henry Cavill, though many believe Cavill may now be too famous and established to reinvent the character.

The Wild Cards: Lowden and Boyle

Two lesser-known names are also generating serious buzz: Jack Lowden and Anthony Boyle.

Lowden already has spy experience thanks to his breakout role in Slow Horses, while Boyle could have the inside track due to his connection with Bond’s new writer, Steven Knight. Boyle recently starred in Netflix’s House of Guinness, which Knight also created — making him a dark horse worth watching.

At just 31, Boyle fits Amazon’s rumored plan for a younger, long-term Bond who can grow with the role across multiple films.

The Clock Is Ticking

Right now, Callum Turner remains the top pick — and for good reason. He’s got the charisma, the edge, and the availability to become the next face of Bond. But Amazon needs to move fast.

If they wait too long, Turner could age out of the role or sign onto another major franchise. Either way, fans are more excited than ever to see where this reboot goes — and who finally gets to say the words,
“The name’s Bond. James Bond.”
